'Katoomba' is the Aboriginal name for 'waterfall'. It was the original name of the practice house and we chose to retain this unusual name. The waterfall also features on our KDP signs and on our stationery logo.
Dr Naveed Jamil BDS LDS RCS qualified at Guy's Hospital and has been in general dentistry since 1991, joining the practice in 1998.
Over the years, Naveed has undertaken much training, both here and in America, on advanced reconstructive dental techniques and cosmetic procedures and continues to attend national and international courses given by the best in their fields. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry
Naveed is married with three sons and likes to spend his free time relaxing with his family.
Our team comprises three dentists, three nurses, four hygienists and six support staff.
The practice has been on this site for many years but became recognisable as today's Katoomba Dental Practice in 1998 when Graham Loader and Chih Liu took over as joint partners with Naveed Jamil joining not long afterwards. Many of the team joined at this time and are still here more than 12 years later.
All three of our dentists are committed to continuing professional development enabling them to keep abreast of changing skills and advances in technology.
Dr Graham Loader BDS qualified in 1986 from The Royal London Hospital and went on to hold a House Officers position in the Department of Conservative Dentistry. After working in a dental practice in Redhill he joined Katoomba in 1990 as an associate before taking over as a joint partner in 1998.
Graham's particular interest is in cosmetic improvements to teeth including teeth whitening, veneers, crown and bridge work and ceramic restorations. He is also able to offer non-surgical facial treatments (such as 'Botox' and dermal fillers)
Graham has a son with whom he enjoys football, scuba diving and golf, and now has two young daughters with his wife Laura.
Dr Chih Liu BDS qualified in 1991 from Guys Hospital followed by a House Officer's post and vocational training in Brighton. He joined Katoomba in 1993, taking over as joint partner with Graham in 1998.
Chih completed a year-long advanced cosmetic dentistry course in Harley Street and continues to update his dental knowledge by attending international courses on a regular basis. He has an interest in the cause and treatment of headaches, jaw and muscle pains and advanced cosmetic restorations. He also is keen on helping nervous clients overcome their fear of dentistry and can offer Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) if necessary.
Off duty, Chih is married with two lovely daughters and likes playing golf in his spare time.
